OUR TEAM

Apostle Tarishan Talbird

Founder & CEO

Raised in Metcalfe, Mississippi, alongside her three siblings, Tarishan was nurtured by her maternal grandmother, Evangelist Dorothy Vick. Her journey, uniquely orchestrated by God, began amidst trials, including the early loss of her mother. These hardships became the catalyst for her call to ministry. Under the leadership of Pastor Larry Guster of King Solomon Church, she was licensed in 2000 and ordained in 2003 into the five-fold ministry office of Prophetess.

Her passion for intercession led her to establish a prayer ministry while serving as the youth minister at her local church, where she deepened her knowledge, discernment, and wisdom. Prophetess Tarishan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from Delta State University and later obtained a Master of Science in Addiction Counseling from Grand Canyon University.

Walking in a cutting-edge Issachar prophetic anointing, she became known as “The Eagle-Eye Prophet” and “The Midwife of the Delta.” Her gift for recapitulating scriptures with witty candor, prophesying with precision, and coining powerful, spirit-led phrases has set her apart in ministry. In 2022, she birthed the Daughters & Sons of Deborah (DSOD) ministry, accepting the mandate to pioneer and mobilize a prophetic movement rooted in the Five-Fold ministry offices.

Expanding her vision, she founded Global Empowerment Ministries (GEM), Treasures in Earthen Vessels Christian Counseling (TIEVCC), and Above Rubies Boutique. In January 2025, she birthed Rehoboth Apostolic Ministries, holding services every Sunday in Metcalfe, Mississippi. She received her Apostolic commissioning January 5, 2025, by Chief Apostle Derek Talbird, further solidifying her divine calling.

Apostle Tarishan is also an author, committed to equipping and empowering believers to adopt a Kingdom Prophetic Mindset. She is blessed with the unwavering support of her husband Chief Apostle Derek Talbird, family, including her three beautiful daughters, five cherished grandchildren, and her father, Michael Johnson. She currently resides in Cordova, Tennessee, continuing to walk boldly in her apostolic and prophetic calling.

Chief Apostle Derek Talbird

Born in New York City and raised in the Bethel Grove community of Memphis, TN, Derek entered the U.S. Navy after high school. There, he trained in Virginia and was later stationed in San Diego, California—an experience that not only shaped his medical career but also deepened his spiritual journey and commitment to reaching God’s people.

Apostle Derek Talbird is a skilled and dedicated Certified Surgical First Assistant with medical privileges at several prominent hospitals throughout the Memphis, Tennessee area. With a strong foundation in both healthcare and ministry, he brings a unique blend of precision, compassion, and spiritual insight to every area of his work and calling.

At the age of 19, Derek Talbird was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ at The Garden of Prayer Church in San Diego under the ministry of Elder Joseph R. Hall on February 22, 1992. His baptism in the Holy Ghost, evidenced by speaking in tongues, marked the beginning of a powerful walk with God. He was later ordained as an Elder by the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World in Los Angeles, California and served in multiple ministries before being called to shepherd God’s people.

On March 28, 2010, Living Word Ministries held its first worship service under his leadership. Since that time, the ministry has witnessed numerous signs and wonders as a testament to God's confirming power. In 2014, Apostle Matthew L. Stevenson III of the GATE Network of Churches became the ministry’s overseer, and in 2016, Derek Talbird was commissioned as an Apostle under Apostle Stevenson’s direction.

Apostle Talbird is committed to building a healthy, thriving church that spiritually impacts the Southern Region of the United States. He is passionately devoted to equipping believers, advancing the Kingdom, and serving with integrity.

He is blessed to share his life and ministry with his wife, Apostle Tarishan Talbird.
